Simon Thirkill

Simon’s Blue Moon Café in Heckmondwike is famous for its all-day breakfasts but, before catering, he tried his hand at dealing antiques, just like his grandfather and father before him.

“My dad was a purist – he liked his Renaissance style – and until recently I suppose I was a purist too. Now I can appreciate most kinds of art and enjoy all kinds of new experiences.

“I’m passionate about bringing the community together through cultural events and can see health and social benefits whenever that happens.”
